Terms of Use
Effective July 2026.
By using thereviewslave.com (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Review Slave provides free, open peer review and open-access publishing. We charge no fees. We may modify or discontinue features, but our no-fees and open-access commitments are permanent.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Reviewer and editorial roles are granted at our discretion and may be revoked for breach of our Code of Conduct or Policies.
3. Submissions & your warranties
When you submit, you warrant that: the work is original and yours to submit; all authors have approved submission and meet authorship criteria; the work is not under consideration elsewhere; you have disclosed conflicts and funding; and any human- or animal-subjects research carries valid ethics approval. You are responsible for the content and its accuracy.
4. Licensing & copyright
You retain copyright in your work. By publishing with us you grant readers the rights of the Creative Commons licence you select (CC BY 4.0 by default), and you grant us the non-exclusive right to publish, host, preserve, and distribute the work and its review record in perpetuity as part of the open scholarly record. Reviews you submit are published under the same open terms. See the licensing policy.
5. Conduct
You agree not to misuse the Service: no fabrication, plagiarism, or misconduct; no harassment; no attempts to breach security, scrape at scale, or disrupt the platform; no uploading of unlawful content or malware. Our Code of Conduct and Policies are incorporated into these Terms.
6. Publication decisions & the record
Editorial decisions are final subject to our appeals process. Once published, content and its review record form part of the permanent record and are not removed on request; corrections and retractions follow our corrections policy.
7. Not medical or professional advice
Content published on the Service is research and its review record. It is not medical, clinical, legal, or professional advice, and must not be relied upon as such.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Review Slave is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the content, accuracy, or use of any published work. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Third-party links
The Service may link to external sites and repositories we do not control and are not responsible for.
10. Changes, governing law & contact
We may update these Terms and will post the new effective date here. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the publisher's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions: admin@thereviewslave.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
